Default AC OFF Due to High Engine Temp

As I was driving to work this morning (in my 2013 Cruze) I got this nice message on my dash screen stating "AC OFF Due to High Engine Temp". Its currently 61 degrees outside and my engine gauge was reading cold. I checked my coolant and the car has coolant in it. The dealerships are closed today as it is July 4th. What the heck can I do? Is my car safe to drive?

It's probably a bad sensor.

Do you have a coolant temp gauge on your model? Is it normal reading? If normal, then it's probably safe. Not sure if the power reduced/limp mode would kick in.

How is your oil level?

Do you hear your radiator fan kick on when you turn on the AC? Maybe it or the relay has failed?

Coolant and oil levels are normal. And yes, I can hear the fan kick in.

My car sat for 4 hours before I attempted to start/drive It. When I started it the light was gone. Contacted GM the next day and they refused to even look at it because there were no lights on at that time!
