Default Heated leather seats and other features not available on Eco?

What is the reason for the Eco trim not having heated leather seats? Do you think it would be possible to add this item to the car after purchase? What about the heated mirrors? Do these options really add so much weight that they don't fit on the Eco? Very interested in this vehicle, but the heated leather seats on my current car are a huge plus and it gets 46 mpg!

It goes against the concept of the eco to load it up with a ton of options. If ou are looking for a loaded Cruze, go with one of the LT builds or LTZ, only 6 mpg difference.

Do you work for Chevy? Where does it say that the concept of the Cruze is to be uncomfortable and sparing on the options? From Chevy marketing and press releases, the Eco is a comfortable and well equipped car with great fuel economy. If their goal was to be spartan, they could have done a much better job while saving money and weight, take out the A/C, take out the rear seat and airbags, take out the radio, take off the passenger side mirror, etc.

No I do not... And if you live in a world where not having heated leather seats is "spartan" then why are you looking at the cruze in the first place?

I'm not here to start an argument but the Eco is a well equipped vehicle, with a goal of great fuel economy for a great economical price. No where does it say the Eco is made to be an "Upper Level Compact." You said it yourself comfortable and well equipped. Boat loaded with every option available isn't what "well equipped" means.

Here is a suggestion for you, Kia Optima. 270 hp turbo four, gets great gas mileage, heated and airconditioned front seats, heated rear seats, leather appointed interior, hi-res nav, hi res computer information screen between gauges, rear backup cam and every other option you could think of. Also, with that amount of stuff, 30 grand price tag. Oh and it has an "Eco" button on the steering wheel if you need that tag to feel good about yourself and your carbon footprint.

I've been researching the Kia Optima SX. A lot more money than the Cruze, but amazing feature list.

Seems like the Cruze Eco has a good set of important features like the radio, A/C etc and leaves out the other not so important stuff like heated mirrors & seats.

Those would be useless here in Florida and just weigh the car down.
