One of the regulators on my 2016 Cruz broke and I have ordered a replacement. There are a lot of videos showing the procedure. Most of them mention that it's a struggle to rewrap the cable around the window motor pully. Part of my cable has slipped off and another part has jumped a groove. Before I start the repair are there any suggestions on how I go about rewinding the cable? I can't find any help on that.

If you ordered a replacement, why are you trying to fix the old one?
Yeah, kinda what I was thinking. If you order a replacement window regulator, isn't the cable part of the assembly? I.e. its got the cable, the motor if electric, the metal arms that attach to the window, etc.
My regulators are all manual, and thankfully have yet to fail. But I've had fun replacing them on cars with electric windows.
I should have been more specific. I ordered Regulator Repair Clips. They were only $7.49. I didn't see the problem with the pulley until after I got the clips. It turned out OK, though. While I was futiley trying to wrap the cables around the pulley I broke the pulley. Thank goodness! Now I'll do what I should have done in the first place and order the whole assembly.
