Transmission oil in spark plug well

Transmission oil in spark plug well
I was changing out the spark plugs in my wife's 2011 cruze because it had started to badly miss. When I pulled out cylinder 4 (the back cylinder) spark plug I noticed oil was present. Upon further inspection I realized it was transmission oil. Does anyone know how this could have happened?
