Recently "Rebuilt" 90's 5.7l hard to crank.
I hope this is in the correct forum, but here it goes...
I recently purchased a 1989 Chevy Stepside 4x4. The original 305 apparently "blew up" and the previous owner had a 350 out of a Z28 rebuilt to put in this truck..
So now I've got a carb'd (305 was TBI) 350 that is pretty hard to crank. The truck has been sitting for about 2.5 years (Not started since the rebuild). I went out and bought an 850 Cranking amp battery to try to get a bit more juice (Had a battery out of a small Chrysler in it....) and proceeded to try again.. Still feels like its binding and/or has some buildup somewhere. Hooked another battery up in parallel and still no luck. It does move, but only small amounts. Occasionally I'll get a full turn out of it.
What I'm wondering is if there is anything I can pour down in the intake to try and break up some of the buildup? Or is this a bad rebuild.. I quit trying because I didn't want to tear anything up. Oh, and I did Pre oil it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

timing may be too advanced, try backing it off a bit and see if that helps (turn vac canister towards firewall) also being fresh and barely run, it may be a lil stiff, or the starter may b toast, try the timing first though
