My daughter drive the Equinox most of the time so I have a few things I do just in case, one is I have a 30" cheater bar behind the spare tire under the jack. You can get 6 ft steel,fence posts for $10 then cut it to around 30". I use hockey tape to tape and it fits in and the spare just snug it do and in the spare space I put in some blue rubber gloves and a few old plastic bags. Now that I have seen some of the chrome covers have come off I also put in a 21mm or 7/8 socket with a socket wtench.
Then if she does phone me from 500 miles away , with a flat I have a fighting chance to help. Those nuts are tightened to 140 ft pounds and that usually means using the jack to loosen them then jacking up the car.
