Default rear differential and transfer case

2007 Equinox LT AWD

Reading about rear differential and transfer case fluid changes. Anyone complete these? Tips and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In typical GM fashion, along with the ATF dipstick location, the drain plugs are not 3/8" box end of socket wrench. They appear to be 9mm hex, only because my set has has an 8 and a 10.

I stand corrected and apologize to GM. After scraping out the rust was able to use 3/8" hex socket. Would have been nice to just use the square end of the 3/8" ratchet/socket wrench. But, got to buy some new tools.

Good that I replaced the rear diff fluid as only about 14 oz of the roughly 26 per specs came out.

Have decided to leave the transfer case alone as repair manuals show drain bolt being sealed with loctite Red. May change my mind in the future.
