Default 06 Equinox

I changed the battery in the car and it still wasn't charging checked the serpentine belt tension was good started looking around the alternator and found a broken orange wire and have no idea where the other end is to reconnect the wire I'm almost certain that is the charging issue.Any help is appreciated the vehicle only has 11,000 miles on it most driving it back and forth to the dealer Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I almost skipped over this post since the subject just said "06 Equinox." Anyway, it sounds like you found the orange wire that carries the generator turn on signal. It should go between L-terminal on the alternator and PCM connector C2, terminal 53.

thanks EinSt that was the issue managed to find the broken wire in a harness re-soldered it and put shrink tubing around it what a tiny wire to even think about putting in a vehichle vibration can break that thing.
