Has anyone here relocated there in tank fuel filter to a location that is actually serviceable?

 

There really isn't a filter to relocate to begin with. The OEM filter is part of the fuel pump/sending unit. Ours has 191k miles on it and it's still going strong.

It's not worth the effort to install an external filter IMO.

 

returnless fuel systems filters only filter the fuel the engine uses as opposed the a system with a return line that filters everything...even the 80% that's sent back to the tank....so your filtering less fuel on a returnless system so the filter life is extended 50 000km = 250 000km filter life. you only need to change it when the pump fails.
