Hi all! Asking for a friend since no computer! he has an 08 equinox with about 80k on it. took to dealer & said ftp sensor bad. he put a new one in but having stalling issues again! took back to dealer & once again read ftp sensor?? reading was 2.1 & no leaks, they said should be 3.5? wondered if anyone had any ideas of what else could cause this or is it possible bought bad sensor? thanks!

 

don't see how a fuel tank pressure sensor would cause a stall condition. its used for evap leak testing purposes not fuel metering.

 

Just wanted to say thanks so much tech 2 for response! I will tell him he better go somewhere else so they dont talk him into another one! Not a clue what the issue is with that thing but atleast I can pass that to him! Thanks again!

 

Could be a throttle position sensor (TPS). I replaced one that was causing a rough idle and hesitation on one of my trucks.
