Exclamation 2005 Chevy Equinox

Recently the car has not wanted to start without a very quick jump.

-180000 miles
-Battery and alternator were replaced 2 1/2 years ago, Battery voltage reading 12, tried to charge battery but said 100%
-Car will start sometimes but other times it needs the quickest jump
-When it doesn't start it does click and try. And the dash components, locks, and radio do dim out
-The blower for the heat has only been working on high for the last 3 or so months.

No other electrical issues. Everything works.

I know a little about cars but not that much. Anyone have a similar issue? Assuming it's the battery since 12v is pretty low. Duralast 75, only 2 year warranty and expired if so Battery is 2 1/2 years old now.

Thanks for any help!

Welcome from Florida. You can take the battery in to get it checked. I think you might have a problem with the starter, It might be time for a new one. Your blower problem is probably being caused by a bad blower resister.

So we had a buddy replace the starter and now it is worse. Took it to Autozone and they said to fully charge the battery and then have them test the whole system (told them I can charge it myself since I have 1). What's interesting though is sometimes you can keep trying and it will go. Even with lights flickering and radio resetting.

Check the ground wire and the negative battery cable for corrosion. wiggle and bend them to break up any build up inside the insulation.

Charging the battery fixed the issue. I think the starter having issues for awhile compromised it a bit. Charged it up AGAIN and have been good to go so far. Appreciate the help
