I own a 2007 Equinox and I'm starting to have issues pop up on it. Just spent $600 getting it repaired and now something is wrong with the catalytic converter. Anyways, I can get my hands on a cheap 2005 Equinox and I was wondering what, if any parts off the 05 would be compatible with my 07.

 

Are there any parts you're specifically wondering about? In short, there were many changes to the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems between the 2005-2006 models and 2007-2009 models so it's just not practical to list everything. Most of the parts that are interchangeable are body & interior parts, but there are a few others. You easily can look up parts on RockAuto.com and click on the part number to see what applications they fit.

 

No parts specifically, was just curious if I should buy the 05 to have around to take parts from, but I was wondering more about the engine and transmission though, so tyvm for that. Much appreciated

 

Yeah, buying a 2005 as a spare parts car would be a hard pass if you have a 2007.

 

can u still get the 05 cheap? I need the motor off of one bad
