HI my equinox only on cold startup is making a loud noise like the gas throttle needs to be tapped and settle the engine down...any suggestions \

How many miles are on it? If it still has the original plugs and plug wires and a lot of miles, it may be time for a tune up. Check your throttle body too. It may need a good cleaning. Mine had 74,000 miles on it when I got it and I changed the plugs and wires and cleaned the throttle body, put in a new cabin filter and air filter too. I'll change the filters ever 15,000 miles or so and the plugs and wires should be good for another 100,000 miles.
