2007 chevy Equinox Outside door handle latch rod came off

2007 chevy Equinox Outside door handle latch rod came off
The driver's side outside door handle broke. I went to replace and could not see the handle latch rod. I removed inside door panel and found the rod in bottom of door cavity completely unattached. I have searched the internet but cannot find any instructions or diagram to re-install.
