I'm trying to figure out what fell off my Equinox valve cover at the back of the engine almost under the spark plug cap.
Looks like the fresh air PCV line came off. That doesn't just fall off. Someone broke it or pulled it off. The other end of it connects to the air intake hose near the MAF sensor so it's probably just dangling down behind the engine. It's GM part number 12602539 and about $30 from RockAuto.com if you need a new one.

Thanks for your help. Have a new one on order and got the old partially reattached.
Hello, What you also possibly know the name and part number for what appears to be the grommet that sits inside the valve cover for the fresh air tube?? A replaced head gaskets on our 2006 equinox years ago and apparently the tube has been sitting there with no grommet all of this time. I cannot find it anywhere.

If we're talking about the same PCV hose, nothing's wrong. A grommet isn't used there. An o-ring on the PCV hose seals against the opening in the metal valve cover.
