2007 equinox electrical issues
I am new here. so I'll get to to the point straight away. When I start my Equinox (2007) the door locks, auto head lights power steering, ABS all start going crazy and I hear a noise like a relay trying to catch on. During winter time it's really bad and I have to keep it revving until it goes back to normal I also notice that the battery voltage on the dash stays at 12.9 and when it goes above 12.9 everything returns to normal. Can anyone please give me an idea. Would really appreciate it. When the days are warmer even if it happens it goes away real fast
Thanks for the reply Joe
I got it tested on the vehicle at Autozone and the guy said it is working fine. When the clicking stops the voltage goes to between 13.6and 14.4. I have checked the voltage myself with a full load with every accessory turned on (AC compressor, head lamps , ) and the voltage remains around 14.2 and sometimes comes down to around 13.6. This afternoon I started the engine and it was fine (warm day). Even before the engine starts, as soon as the ignition is turned on the clicking starts .I got the battery tested too. Maybe I should remove the alternator and get it tested. What do you think? Can it be the battery current sensor ?

unlikely. the current sensor is a solid state device. Not much to break there.
First I would check that all your main connections are clean and tight
I would also investigate and try to locate which relay is clicking as that would provide clues.
A mechanics stethoscope would be useful, but you could probably just put your finger on them too.

had the same issue this week, same symptoms, even my radio has reseted (lost all preset). I changed the battery last february and it is when the issue started (not that much at first but regularly since beginning of June) . Went to the mechanic monday and he says everything fine, no ground leaks and the battery seems ok too.
Since a month had to boost every morning. I decided to change the battery again (still guaranteed) a few days ago (tuesday) and so far so good. I cleaned carefully the connectors this time. hpe that won't come back....
