2010 Equinox key stopped working, security light on
Hi,
My wife drove her 2010 Equinox to work last week. When she came out of work, it would not start. All the buttons on the fob work but when I put the key in, it will not start and the security light stays on. I brought the spare key out and that worked fine. With the spare key, the sec. light goes off.
I tried to reporgram the key with some strange effects.
I start the car with the spare key, remove the key then immediately put the bad key in and it will start but the security light never goes off. The key will continue to start the car for a few more times but the sec. light never goes out. If I try the key after opening the door, it no longer works.
Any thoughts?
