I just purchased a 2010 Equinox 1LT. It didn't come with remote start. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether they were pre-wired for a factory remote start? I know the old rpo used to be ap8, is there a new rpo?

Also, if I have to get an aftermarket - I know I'll need an extra key for the bypass module. Anyone know an approx cost of a key?

I'd like to know why the equinoxs only allow 15 minutes of remote start running time (I have 2012) and after that one 10 or 15 minute run time one has to physically go to the car and insert the key to reset it so you can remote start it again. I have a remote start for my Chevy Van (2002) and I can start it as many times as I want from a remote place. I don't do that often, but have in the winter. Is this new deal something required by the Feds to reduce use of gas or global warming? Just could not understand why one had to actually go to the car to reset it. Thanks...
