Default 2011 Equinox

Just wondering how the new 4 cyl engine compares to the 3.4 in my 2008 all wheel drive. I'm looking to trade in my '08 for a new 2011, but was wondering if it will have enough power to get out its own way, much less perform well the way the old engine did. I know they improve many things from year to year, i.e. fuel economy etc., but will I give up performance only to gain a few mpg's? Prompt replies from new owners will be appreciated. Thanks.

We have a 2010 2LT FWD 4 cyl and have no complaints about power; indeed, we find that it is easy to exceed the speed limits. We circled lake Michigan this summer and that included Interstate Hwy traffic and some two lane in the UP of MI: no problems.

Default 2011 Nox

Thanks Jim for your reply and the info. I did test drive the 4 cyl on Thrs 12-2, and was impressed with the zip it has, more than what I thought and/or expected. I left the delaership impressed, and with my new 2011 the same day. I posted before a problem with my #1 spark plug cracking 2 times, got some interesting feed back, and decided it was time to trade UP while I could still get a decent trade in. I got a great deal with my trade, and got out from under what could have been a costly problem in the future, much less the inconvienence of needed service. Two thumbs up for both your comment and the new 4 cyl in the Nox., as I highly recommend this engine for both performance and the added ECO system it offers. The extra mpg's will be an added bonus as well. Thanks again, and I hope this post will lead to other folks at least giving it a test drive.
