Hello,

We have a 2011 Equinox, recently the remote start option stopped working. When I hit the starter button I see the front lights flash briefly and hear a click from the front end and then nothing. It's acting as if the system is trying to engage but never goes beyond that. Other than that everything on the remote works as it should. Any ideas?

I am having similar issues with my 2007 Suburban. Unfortunately I have only had it for a couple months and it has never worked for me, so I don't know the symptoms that led up to it. But I do have a theory.

Is your cruise control working? Mine is not. I am suspecting the brake light switch might be the cause. I have an error code that is related to the brake light switch and I know the switch is needed to disable the cruise control when you hit the brake. It is also used to turn off the engine if the key isn't turned to the run position.

 

the starting point is to get the car scanned for dtc. not just powertrain dtc but body codes as well. for this you will need a high end scan tool.
