The battery reads good with a meter, is there still a chance that there is a dead cell?

 

Tried jump starting with my truck and no luck. Would think even with a dead cell that the Equinox would still crank. It read appr 12.5 with a meter. With cables discounted the keys will not come out of the ignition. Wonder if the Body Control Module is going bad or went bad?

 

Perhaps you have a bad connection at the battery? You could try disconnecting the battery cables, cleaning them up, and reconnecting them. If the factory-installed battery is still in there, just replace it because you're already way overdue for new one. A load test is the only reliable test with any car battery.
