2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ
I'm trying to evaluate a repair estimate for my Daughter-in-laws car - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ, 4 cylinder - making a noise like a broken exhaust pipe, rusted muffler, etc. - she took it to a shop today for an evaluation - the car and I are 1,200 miles apart - the shop guy tells me that they need to replace the exhaust manifold (cracked \ broken), new gasket(s), etc. - the shop is telling me it's gonna be about $1,000 out the door to do the work - does $1,000 sound reasonable? At this point, is it worth putting that kinda money into the car? Thanks
Thanks very much - it's very tough even knowing whether or not a repair like this even in the ballpark, having almost no recent experience with American cars (Honda's for 30 years), and being 1,200 miles away.
