Default 2012 equinox sputtering and wanting to stall

I bought a used equinox for my wife end of August right now it only has 64000 miles on it went to go some where Friday night and all of a sudden it sputtered and acted like it wanted to stall when I would stop at a light or came to a complete stop anyone know what may be causing this? I believe it may be timing chain after I hooked up my code reader and looked through all the codes it threw back at me (p0016...p0011....p0089) any little bit of info on if there ever was a recall or if hopefully it may be still under some kind miracle warranty would greatly be appreciated

We just had our timing chain break and destroy the motor. Of course I was told it didn't qualify for any of the current recalls. Since I have 134,000 miles on it there is no warranty. They estimated a new motor to be $4900.

does it have the 2.4? The balance chain has an extended special coverage on it and putting a new timing chain is part of the process, might even need a high pressure fuel pump. Make sure the oil is full and hasn't been forever since the last oil change and see if it applies

That is what I was told but according to their dealership my specific vehicle doesn't qualify for that coverage.

if the timing chain itself broke then yea technically it wouldn't be covered in the special coverage

Same thing just happened with my 2011 Equinox. Similar mileage. I don't understand how a timing belt can go already and Chevy thinking it's OK.
