So I have a little over 45,000 miles on my equinox. I believe it is time to get the transmission fluid changed in the vehicle. However, the maintenance schedule only says to do it at 45K with "Severe" and not "normal". What are thoughts on this?

I also see they recommend the brake fluid be replaced at 45K in the manual. To be honest, I've never changed the break fluid in a vehicle and thought it was ridiculous to do so.
