So I’m continuing to get a light show from my 2019 Equinox. The check engine light goes on, stays on for a day or two and goes off. The ESC OFF light comes on, stays on for a day or two, and goes off. This is driving me crazy. Do I have a bad computer module? How much will that cost to fix?

 

Have the codes read and post them here. The code will be stored in history even if the fault is intermittent.

 

The computers in these newer cars demand your battery be in TIP-TOP condition. While you're having the codes scanned, ask them to check your battery and give it a load test.

 

Its a 2019 model with only 55,000 miles (verified by Carfax). Is it possible for the battery to be run down already?

 

Batteries don't have any set lifespan. New batteries today come with a 3 year replacement warranty. Some last longer and some die prematurely. It shouldn't cost anything to have Autozone, O'Reilly, Advance or Car Quest scan your car for codes and test the battery.

 

P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire - my mechanic checked the spark plug and said it was OK. I just want this thing fixed.
