I have a 2019 Equinox LT which did not come with factory roof rails. There are 4 pods on the roof where it looks like you could add rails. Wondering if anyone has installed them and what was needed to get them installed. Going for the look of the rails. Don't need it to carry any weight.

 

You won't be able to add the factory roof rails to your Equinox, at least not without drilling the holes. According to the 2019 brochure, LT models without roof rails are equipped with luggage carrier provisions. Those are covered by the pods you are seeing. I've compared the two options in GM's parts catalog at work. As you can see in the picture below, the bolt holes are not the same between the roof rails (left) and the luggage carrier provisions (right).



The good news is that there are rails you can buy on Amazon or eBay that just stick on that will give you the aesthetics you're looking for.
