2025 Equinox Transmission Leak
Hi There; New to the forum. We have a 2025 Equinox LT AWD that has been nothing but trouble since we bought it Dec. 12, 2024
At 7990 km we took the car to the Dealership to diagnose a transmission leak. They had to replace a; front cover seal, a case seal and case bolts bolts. I assume they had to remove the transmission from the car. ( It was at the Dealership for a week. ) After we got the car back there was a terrible noise coming from underneath the car. We took the car back to the Dealership. The exhaust shield wasn't properly reinstalled and it's mounting bolts had fallen out.

Other Issues:
We have had the "check engine light" come on every time we washed the car in cold weather.
Apparently the rad shutters freeze in cold weather. We took the car in to the dealership last week and they downloaded some new software to solve the problem. Apparently this a "new fix"... !! I'm not sure how software is going to resolve a mechanical issue. Maybe they want the cars computer to ignore the frozen shutters...??? Time will tell... It gets down to -30 C. a lot during the winter here in Winnipeg.
We also got a "check engine light" this summer during a terrible rainstorm on the highway. The car went into "limp" mode and we had to pull off the highway and shut the car off. After about 30 minutes we restarted the car, the light went out and we where on our way. The car went back to the dealership and they replaced a crankcase pressure sensor.
We also had issues with a trailer hitch installation. That took two return visits to the dealership to get a wiring harness issue resolved. Apparently the car didn't know that there was a trailer connected to it....so... the trailer lights didn't work. They downloaded another bit of software to let the computer know when a trailer was connected. Problem solved...!!!
This year the car has been at the dealership 8 times.... It's a 45 minute drive to the dealership each way... The car is there usually there for at least one day, sometimes as many as three days... and we needed a rental car each time. Fortunately the rental car was free. Not sure how long that will last. We've had the car for 1 year and has a little over 23,000kms.
