Default 2nd gen Equinox front clip interchange with 1st gen?

Hey guys-- any chance a 2nd gen (2010) Nox front clip will bolt onto a 1st gen (2008)? My '08 has a collision that totaled the front end and I replaced everything (including the core support) from a 2006...it all fit just fine, but my car is black and the donor was bright white. I can get the complete front clip from a black 2010 for free if I want it, and was wondering if it's a bolt on swap...I know it's probably a long shot, but for free I thought I'd ask...
Also wondering if the 2nd gen wheels would fit in mine since they would be free too...
Thanks!

I don't think cars bodies bolt together. They're welded by robots at the factory. Is it even legal to drive a wrecked and frankensteined car?

It's true that the basic structure of a car is spot welded together at the factory, but even major sections of a car can be replaced if the expense is justified, it's just usually not. On mine the only part of the structure I had to replace was the core support...I had to cut all the spot welds to remove the one that got tacod, cut the replacement out of the donor car, and then weld the replacement into my car. I already know how to do all of that, so it's not that hard, just time consuming.
Anyway, I'm not looking to change any more of the structure..."front clip" is an old term that usually refers to all the sheet metal that bolts onto the underlying structure and can be easily removed and replaced...the hood, fenders, grill, bumper, etc. I'm just wondering if the 2nd gen parts will bolt onto a 1st gen, and if so will the fenders align with the doors, etc. Manufactures will sometimes charge the style without changing the structure to save the cost of re-engineering more of it than they have to, so I was wondering if that was the case here.
As far as the legality of car mods it depends on where you live... I'm in Montana where there's no inspections, no emissions...as long as the lights work and you can hang a license plate on it, it's pretty much legal haha
