AWD 2012 Equinox trans. leaking fluid
I use the vehicle for my airport transportation livery business and have 118,000 miles on it. Recently some spots of trans fluid under the car. Though it runs as well as the day I bought it used in Jan. of 2015 when it had about 60,000 miles on it.
Brought it to a local Chevy dealer and was told it's leaking thru seals. Will need to take it apart (at least 7 hours of labor) and replace seals and whatever else it needs. Will likely cost over $1,000.00 plus.
Just wondering if others here have run into this same problem with their Equinox? And how much did this repair cost you?
Thanks for any responses.

You might try a trans. fluid additive. Some claim that their product causes the seals to swell and that just might cure your problem. Getting it in the trans. is another issue. Also I have heard about cars from the South being relocated to the North and vice/versa having seal problems because of the change in humidity. Good luck.

first I would ask what seals, theres more than one and some are relatively simple to replace. the only thing that would leak externally requiring that much labor would be a side cover if it has one. Ask more questions that explanation is very very vague
Last week I brought the car in to the Chev dealer in Northampton, Ma. They had the car all week while I rented from Enterprise.
