The OEM battery is an AC Delco 47-7YR. DO NOT install anything with a smaller rating than 650CCA. This is difficult because most popular brands only provide 600CCA in this size. Unlike most other vehicles, the charging system monitors the state of the battery and adjusts system voltage accordingly. Our Equinox often drops to 12.6 Volts while driving down the road - this is normal. Unfortunately, side effects of this are the blower motor doesn't blow as fast, windows don't go up & down as fast.

When this happens I've found that you can effectively override the system by manually turning on the headlights. The charging voltage will then slowly climb back up to 13.9V.
