Hi all - I have a 2014 equinox with 173K miles. Yesterday when I started my car and put it into gear, I heard a buzzing sound. It didnt' get louder as I drove but continued to buzz. When I put the car in park, the buzzing went away. It sounded like it was coming from the drivers side.

 

Check the heat shields around the exhaust. Sometimes they come loose and vibrate against other stuff.

 

Definitely will...thanks for the reply. I may have self-diagnosed the issue. I noticed that the noise only happens during the day and not at night. I believe that it may be the relay going bad for the daytime running lights. I will have my husband replace that to see if it fixes the issue but I will also have him look at the heat shield too...
