Default Clock won't recognize daylight savings time

Shortly after I bought my Equinox, daylight savings time rolled around. The clock did not know and reset itself. I tried to manually reset it, but upon restarting the vehicle it would go back to the old time. I took it to the dealership and they said it needed a computer update which fixed the problem.

Three years later, it does the same thing. Now that it is out of warranty, the only solution the dealership offers me is to sell me a whole new radio. There is nothing wrong with the radio. Is there some way to turn off the auto clock? What if I lived right on a time zone, there should be a way to manually set the time shouldn't there?
