Hello i am trying to upgrade my 6cd changer to the ottonavi
system and have been in contact with one of there sales people
he confirmed that the stereo will fit but could not confirm if the wiring is ok
or the harness is the same pinout the stereo is listed as 2007 - 2009
i need help to know if there is any change in the harness or in the pinout
from the 2005 to the 2007 model i have no onstar or Premium sound and no
satellite radio just steering wheel controls

I can tell you that the radio harnesses are completely different between 2005-2006 and 2007-2009 Equinox. The steering wheel controls also operate a little differently between them.

 

thank you for your answer one more question is the steering wheel controls controlled by the gmlan or is it separate wires ?
and if so is it the same bus between 2005-2006 and 2007-2009
and if some one would have a pinout of the harness to see if it could work ?

The steering wheel controls are controlled via GM LAN (Low Speed Data) on 2007-2009 models. The 2005-2006 models are connected directly to the steering wheel controls and don't use the GM LAN to operate/communicate.

I have attached wiring diagrams for the 2005 (2006 should be same) and 2007 (2008-2009 should also be same) Equinox below.
