Equinox 2006 Overheating
Hi,
I recently bought a used Chevy Equinox 2006 but is overheating. I changed the power pump and thermostat but is still overheating. The issue is that I turn on the car, run it for 15-20mins and if I start making stops the car start overheating. If I put the car in D o N and accelerates, start cooling. Don't appear to have a leak and the fans are working. I don't know what else can be.

Confirm both fans blow at full speed when the temp gauge gets above the 1/2 mark. To do this, start the engine and leave it idle for a couple minutes until it starts to warm up. Then turn the A/C on. Both fans should blow at low speed with the A/C on, and go to full speed when the temp gauge goes above the 1/2 mark.
You should also have your coolant reservoir lid checked to make sure it is holding pressure. Your coolant will boil prematurely and cause the engine to overheat if it is not holding pressure.
