Default Garage Door Buttons Stopped Working

On a 2021 Equinox, my interior garage door opener worked for the first 6 weeks. Then last week it stopped.
I have two separate hand-held remotes and both still work (fresh batteries).

I have erased the interior buttons (holding 1 and 3 down until blinking) and no fix. I have attempted to reprogram the interior buttons using the hand-held unit ....the red light goes on, then slow blinks and then nothing (it should go to a fast blink).

Is there a battery in the interior controller ? Any other ideas?

no battery...its powered by the vehicle
does the garage opener (not the remote) need to be put into programming mode?

If the hand held units ( two of them) work properly, it seems to me the problem is the Equinox controller brain isn't recording the appropriate code.

It did function when I first bought the car and stayed working (when programmed by the hand-held units) until just last week.

I think I may have to take the SUV in to the dealer for warranty work.

I had an issue with my garage door after installing LED light bulbs in the opener. Some type of RF thing. Did you recently install LED bulbs anywhere near the opener?

Since your handheld remotes are working fine, it’s probably not a battery issue in the interior controller—those usually don’t have separate batteries. You did the right thing by trying to reprogram it.

One thing you might try is to disconnect the car battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it. This can sometimes reset the system. If that doesn’t work, it might be a deeper issue.
