Intake and Exhaust camshaft notch position for an LEA type 2.4 L engine for timing
I installed a new cylinder head on my daughters 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. In the process I am also replacing the timing chain and cam phasers. I subscribe to Alldata.com and they don't show the positions for the intake and exhaust camshaft notches that the cam phasers attach to for an LEA designated motor. What they show is that the camshaft notch for the intake cam should be in the 5 o'clock position and the exhaust camshaft notch should be in the 7 o'clock position for the cam phasers. Those positions are for engines designated as LE5, LE9, LAT, LNF, LDK, LHU, LTD, LBN, or 2010 LAF, I would appreciate anyone that can provide me with correct camshaft notch positions for the LEA designated motor. The cylinder head is brand new and not yet bolted down. So, If I need to rotate the camshafts, I can still pick the cylinder head up off the block to prevent bending or damaging the valves. I believe that the correct positions are 10 o'clock for the intake camshaft notch and 7 o'clock for the exhaust camshaft notch.
