Knock Noise When Shifting and Shifting Into Reverse
Hello,
I recently took my 2013 FWD Chevy Equinox to the Mechanic. When I shift into reverse there is a loud knock that sounds like metal on metal. The mechanic said when they shifted the car from drive to reverse while looking under it they say that the driver side axle was the think knocking around.
The mechanic said that it is loose in the hole where it goes into the transmission so whenever the car shifts it jerks and makes a knock noise. He told me that there should be a bushing piece that holds it in but he did not know if GM had a part for this. He said he was going to research it, but I figured I would ask around in the mean time.
Does anyone know if I this part exists or if there is a fix to this?
