P722 is the code no signal but the tech doesn't work either and the person who had it before me when it went into limp mode the EGR was bad and had to be replaced the 1st code was the shift solenoid the codes have changed and I don't have any codes about the tach not working so I change sensors that would be the cause and by what other people have had to do to fix the problem I have also changed the transmission fluid and tried another new sensor incase it was a bad one from the parts store the ecm and tcm was bought from a company that you gave the vin so they programmed them and made sure the were updated

How many miles on the transmission?

I would get an electrical schematic (charm.li) . Measure resistance between the sensor and TCM connector with a multimeter. Ensure sensor has good ground and reference voltage (if applicable). If necessary, scope probe the VSS square wave signal at the TCM. If good signal is measure then it's a faulty TCM.
