Manifold Crack
I have a 2010 Equinox and have been smellin exhaust in my vehicle for a long while to find out the manifold is cracked. Is this a common problem and has there been/should there be/will there be a recall on this problem.
As it is costing in excess of $500 to have it fixed, parts are cheap, however the labor is more than the parts.

The exhaust manifold cracking is not frequent enough for me to consider it a common problem. With that said, it does appear that all the Ecotec 2.2L & 2.4L engines are more prone to this issue compared to other GM engines. A few cases of cracked exhaust manifolds have been reported with virtually all models that have these engines going all the way back to the 2000 Saturn L-Series (first US model to use the Ecotec 2.2L engine).
I doubt there will ever be a recall for this issue.
