I got a new engine and now the power steering is messed up so I was wondering is my power steering electric I have a 2012 chevy equinox

 

If you have the 3.0L V6 engine, you have hydraulic power steering. If you have the 2.4L four cylinder engine, you have electric power steering.

If you just had the engine replaced and your power steering hasn't worked since then, they probably forgot to plug the motor back in. I'd be upset because that's something they should've caught during the test drive (or test run if they didn't drive it).
