Default Remote Start- Utterly Confused

I don't have a start button on my remote for my 2007 Equinox but I have recently discovered that if I press the lock button three times and then press the unlock button the car will start. Is this supposed to happen? Does that mean that I can replace the key I have for one with a start button on it? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

I've looked through your owners manual and found some information that may shed some light on your situation. On page 103 there is a section called Remote Start Ready which may be what you are experienceing. I would suggest reading it for yourself and possibly speaking with your local dealership about whether or not this is the case and see if they could possibly set you up with the correct key fobs and fully open up the system for you. I hope this information helps you.
