How does one remove the A pillar trim on a 2020 Equinox? I want to run wiring up to behind the mirror for a dashcam. It feels like it might pop off with just pulling, but I don't want to take the chance of breaking something. Why don't manufacturers recognize that a lot of people use dashcams and put an outlet up around the mirror for them? Has anyone done an installation like this and has some photos to show?

 

Start at the top and pull the trim inward towards the center of the dash. The clips are designed to “pop” loose rather than applying a constant pull - if you’ve ever removed a CV axle, the motion is similar - a U shaped trim stick will be helpful but not necessary.

Note there is a tether to be released near the middle of the trim.

Once down to the dash, pull up and out to fully remove.
