Default Severe shaking when braking between 30 & 40 mph

In the last few days, my 2012 equinox LT AWD has developed a bad shake when I'm braking between 30 & 40 MPH. Over those speeds, there is a small shake when braking but its barely noticeable and under those speeds its non-existent, but when I'm braking between 30 & 40 it's violent. I had the rotors and pads changed roughly 8,000 miles ago and I don't see any damage on the rotors. Any suggestions would be a help, I have a cross-country move next week so I need to get this fixed ASAP.

I know you just replaced the pads/rotors, but it sounds like warped rotors. I've had rotors warp within 15K miles (they were cheap rotors). Either the rotors were cheaply made and/or the lug nuts were not tightened evenly.

Well that’s good to know. You think having them turned would solve the problem?

You could certainly try to have the rotors turned, but it seems today's rotors barely meet minimum thickness and any turning might result in the rotor thickness below minimum.

Is the brake light or the ABS light on?

Make sure the mounting surface on the front of the wheel hubs is clean and free of any rust/corrosion buildup before installing new rotors. Be sure to clean the back side of the brake rotors that goes against the wheel hub too.
