Default Winter tires, different sizes

I have a 2012 Equinox AWD and it has 225/65r17 tires on it, i have two new winter tires to go on it and i have a couple of 235/65r17 winter tires that my brother had for another vehicle and i am wondering if i can use them with the 225 or does all four tires have to be the same size. i thin i already know the answer but i wanted to get others opinion. Thanks

All four tires need to be the same size since it is AWD. If you install two tires of a different size on you could ruin the differential. Even if your Equinox was just FWD, while no mechanical damage would occur, the difference in tire size would cause ABS & Stabilitrak to not work properly.
