this is what my axle looks like under the center cap.

NO BOLTS... which tells me it is NOT.. a full floating axle
which it cant be a 25 or 3500..

here is what I am wondering now...
did they do an axle change in or around those years..
mine is a 2006 as far as I know its never been changed.. it has a
GT4 rear RPO code and the RPM's reflect the 3:73 gear ratio....
so I am flipping trippin.. NOW....
when I noticed your pic I knew I just knew my axle did not look like yours
so what the HELL do I have >?

here are some pics of my axle with the wheel off.
Your axle... looks like the older style which I am
accustomed to working on back in my military days.
I reconized it right away.... but then I light bulb
went off in my head.. ( we have a saying for that around here )
and you have to hear it really not read it... lol
but it long and drawn out...
LLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTT BBBBBUUUULLLLLLBBBBBB....
lol
light bulb... we usually say that out loud.. when we finally get something..
well I just knew that my axle does not look like your axle... so...
I know ARTIE1 has a van like mine,,, I am interested to know what his axle looks like
yours or mine... so ARTIE... chime in .....

Bjbranyo

I have looked at others online ( you tube )
that have sprayed their calipers... I really like the look
and of course my RED van.. now that I have wheels that you can
see the calipers.. I too will be doing mine up RED.... for sure.
Just got off the phone with Autozone... I wanted to see what
shocks they had to offer in RED.. lol well I will NOT be buying their
RED shocks.. they are entry level L cheepo's lol
were did you get your shocks and who makes them ?
I have to keep in mind that I will be pulling a 24ft trailer alot.
so I was told that Autozone makes a shock for big towing... ( MAX CONTROL )
by gabriel that might be my choice with a 20.oo rebate for ordering ONLINE..

Bjbranyo

I have done some searching on the net for axle housing 2006 3500
and it comes up looking like mine.
it came up 2003-2009
so your van is a 2004 but I am wondering if someone
changed your rear axle to the older style..
when you bought your hummer rotors what year did you have to buy for?

KYB monotubes, what I got was the best at that time, plus I had also to pull a lot of heavy load before, so added the extra cooler for trany, reseal and beefed up for sure, thats why I believe my rear axle was made for heavy duty tow as factory
was making 2000 miles with 22 feet extra at least 12thdns pounds of load, making on the hwy east coast I95 at least 80mph, no sweat ))) well no mountains for sure (300 boxes of chemicals 5gal each plus 800 pounds of machinery)

Now come to think again, ordered rotors from pep boys, only place they had it, it took them 2 weeks to get it, and they had a problem with my rear I guess, I had to reorder them, but it was only rematching the part number, thats why I checked is the same as GM part for Hummer
