Hey all, hopefully someone can help me. I don't know too much about vans. I have a 1995 g20 conversion van. It has play in the steering, and got a ton of work done to help that, a fantastic mechanic did that work but he said it still needed a universal joint to finish the job and that these are impossible to find on their own so what I need is a steering shaft with the ujoint attached. I had to leave the state he is in so someone else is trying to finish the job. This new mechanic found a steering shaft with ujoint. Turns out he now says its the wrong part and that I need a telescoping steering shaft. I cannot for the life of me find this part anywhere. I'm actually starting to think he's wrong. I'm at a loss. If I call junk yards or pick and pulls I don't even know if I'm asking about the correct part anymore

You might need to take some measurements and give an aftermarket steering shaft company like Borgeson or Flaming River a call.
