Default Is extended GM warranty worthwhile on a 2016 Chevrolet Express 3500 15 seat with 6.0L

After reading here, we ultimately replaced our 2010 Ford E350 12 seat with a 2016 Chevrolet Express 15 seat with 6.0 liter engine. We bought used (both times), and are about to exceed 30,000 miles on the Chevy. Would you buy a GM warranty, or are these vehicles sufficiently simple and bullet-proof that such would be a waste of money? Thanks again.

I've never had one on a GM, and it's been okay for me. Most of the expensive stuff happened after 100k, so I'm not sure how good a service plan would work. My son had one on a Cherokee, and while it was a PITA, it did save him the cost of a transmission at around 75k(?).

Curious, how would you compare the Ford vs the Chevy? I had the chance to drive a rental Ford similar to my Chevy, and it was okay, but considering it was a rental, and mine was a rental, I wasn't impressed.

The comparison is between a 2010 Ford E350 12 seat 5.4L versus a 2016 Chevrolet 3500 15 seat 6.0L. I would never own a Ford Transit or any European style van. The GM: has much better acceleration and gearing, is much easier to turn, park and steer, and has a much better ride. The Ford seemed more sturdily built—very rugged, had more comfortable passenger seats, and better underseat storage. And we have over 200k miles with no needed repairs whatsoever beyond maintenance items. We love both vehicles. All things considered the Chevrolet is more fun to drive.

You have 3 yrs or 36K miles, 60K power train. Great engine 6.0. Run 2016 one ton 15 passenger Chevy Express 3 DR LT too. Change oil about every 5 K
