Default Off & On Starting Problems - '15 Express 3500 6.0

I purchased this van new in '15, and have never experienced any type problem until last week. I went to start it, turned the key and got nothing, no chatter, nothing. Battery was reading 12.54. I removed and tried again - this time I got a hard "clunk." I checked the battery post, all tight - even "wrapped" on a Separator installed, but still nothing. After about three hours, I tried again ......started right up, like it always has. Three days running there has been no problem. Can anyone shed some light on the possible cause or something to look at - my head is spinning. Thinking of going to town (20 miles), but have my wife follow - just in case, ha! Ron

Thanks Beau, a mechanic in town who I trust suggested just what you said - will pursue it. I have had two Express Vans (05 & 15) and up until this never a problem. Ron

No, they don't fail too often. Moving parts though.

I would also check and consider the relays under the hood, the BCM, and all connections. I occasionally have similar issues from loose battery terminals. I put a new starter battery in and I only hand tightened the bolts, I am waiting for myself to either dig out the ones I want to use, or buy new ones. I keep forgetting to do that, but it's not a big deal to pop the hood and tighten the connection until I actually get around to taking care of that issue.

Thanks dberladyn, will do. BTW, I was over on UTube and seen a video of a guy who removed the Side Post that come as OEM....and installed a 1.5" coarse thread 3/8" bolt with a nut included. He removed the old post, and with the nut on the new bolt, screwed it in until it seated. Then he tightened it down, moved the bolt snug against the rubber wire covering and tightened it down. Said it makes it easier to charge when and if necessary. I carry a small wrench in the door.....and check frequently. Ron

UPDATE:
I haven't experienced anymore failures, but have been reading back over the Forum, and found this:

2015 CHEVY EXPRESS 4500 - NO START...by Rockfishon dtd 8 Jan 19 (PAGE #8)

It is interesting in all the things that were tested, the manner, etc.

Dberladyn, you mention Relay, and that is one of the items they replaced.....think I will pick up a couple, cheap enough. Also, read where you could swap out #15 & 40 on mine (15 being the Start & 40 the AC) and check it that way - I am leaving well enough alone for now....it is running.
