Default Service Engine Light

Hey everyone!
I have an 87 G-20, and every single time I take a trip of more than 15-20 miles, the service engine light comes on. I've taken it in and everything seems fine. She runs like a beast, and when I kill the ignition, it seems to reset it (until I drive another 15-20 miles again). Should I be worried?

Find out what it is. Then decide if you need to be worried.

Finding an old code reader will be difficult. But it may be the only route to the answer.

Not much computer back then.....lol

The check engine light comes on of a guage bottoms.....are you getting good oil pressure at low idle? Do you just have warning lights and no gauges? If so, you may want to hook up and see what you are running.

You can read the code with a paperclip.
