Trim Restore
#12
There is a black molding and trim restore out there. I've used it in years past though I don't recall if it was a Mother's or a pro product. For me it worked well and lasted pretty much a year before re applying. It is applied like wax, rubbed in and wiped /buffed off. I've used it on cowling and trim to deal with the oxidation.

Probably longer than you may think. It's not just a cosmetic fix. It should actually remove at least some of the oxidation, so as the WD evaporates, the oxidation shouldn't return just because the WD isn't there. WD isn't the best lubricant, but it is a good cleanser. It's quite good at removing adhesive from stickers.

The oxidation will return because the plastic will continue to degrade.

If mine go like that, I will just wrap them in flat black vinyl car wrap. I had a large roll of it to black out my windows completely from the inside and cover things I make.
Seriously, go check out vinyl carp wrap. You get a million different shades, even wood grains. It's actually how the factory dresses up vehicles and then charges $10,000 more.
